Why a dedicated range
Replacement hair loses what natural hair gets back.
Human hair on a wig is no longer supplied with oils by the scalp. Every wash takes something away, and nothing replaces it on its own. That’s why replacement hair needs different formulas from a drugstore shampoo.
What drugstore shampoo does to human hair: It’s made for hair that produces oil every day. On a wig, it washes out what doesn’t come back. After a few washes the hair turns dull, the ends feel like straw — and the wig suddenly looks like a wig. The right care costs a fraction of a human hair wig and protects what you’ve invested in your replacement hair.

How to use
Washing a wig — four steps.

Wash in the direction of the hair
Don’t knead or rub the wig. Dissolve shampoo in lukewarm water, draw the hair through from root to tip and rinse thoroughly.

Leave the treatment in
Spread through lengths and ends with your hands, without a comb, avoiding the knotted area. Leave for about ten minutes, then rinse clear.

Dry on a stand
Press out with a towel, don’t wring. Let it air-dry or blow-dry at a low temperature. Too much heat is the fastest way to make human hair dull.

Argan oil into dry hair
One pump into your palms, spread through the lengths. Only then style.
Wefted or hand-knotted wig?
How you wash the wig depends on its construction. The four steps above apply to both; only the washing itself differs.
Wefted wig
In the basin
Dissolve a hazelnut-sized amount of shampoo in about one litre of lukewarm water, in a basin or bowl. Draw the wig through the water and gently clean the cap. Leave in the shampoo bath for five to ten minutes, then rinse thoroughly under running water.
Hand-knotted wig
On a foam head
Secure the wig firmly on a foam head and wash it gently under the shower or running water. This keeps the individually knotted hairs in direction and the cap in shape.
Before washing
Detangle first
Place the wig on a foam head or hold it carefully in your hand. Brush upwards from the ends with a wig brush with soft, flexible bristles. Never pull or tear out knots, or hair and cap will suffer.

Perückenliebe is a premium hair replacement brand for professional retailers. We sell our human hair wigs and toppers exclusively through studios and hairdressers — not to end customers. We make an exception for the care range, for three reasons.
A wig is fitted, a shampoo isn’t
A wig has to be measured, cut and matched to the head. That belongs in expert hands and can’t be solved with a shopping cart. A bottle of shampoo needs no fitting.
Care products are consumables
There are months between two studio appointments — the shampoo runs out before then. No one should have to travel just to restock, or reach for the wrong product in the meantime.
Not everyone lives near a studio
Our wigs are fitted all over Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The right care should be available everywhere, not only where there happens to be a specialist shop nearby.
